Director of Outsourced Accounting Operations

We are leading the search for a dynamic Director of Outsourced Accounting Operations—a high-visibility leadership role overseeing a 25+ person team and driving the evolution of the firm's operations, processes, and technology.

This Director will be the operational heartbeat of the outsourced accounting practice, tasked with elevating service delivery, scaling the team, transforming workflows, and bringing fresh thinking to process optimization and technology enablement (including AI-driven innovation). You’ll partner directly with firm leadership to challenge the status quo, streamline how people work, and create a measurable culture of excellence.


This is a role for someone who sees how outsourced accounting should run in 2025 and beyond—and wants the platform and authority to make it happen.


What You’ll Lead:

Strategic Leadership & Operational Excellence

  • Drive practice-level strategy and execute against clear P&L and growth objectives.
  • Translate complexity into focus, simplicity, and scalable operational frameworks.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives from concept to completion—including process redesign and technology upgrades.

People Leadership & Team Development

  • Oversee a 25+ person team, ensuring flawless delivery of client services.
  • Strengthen people operations: recruiting, performance management, coaching, accountability, communication, and culture.
  • Build a high-performing, collaborative, KPI-driven environment where your team can thrive.

Client Experience & Relationship Management

  • Serve as the executive escalation point for key clients, protecting satisfaction and retention.
  • Implement quarterly business reviews (QBRs) to deepen relationships and create service transparency.
  • Manage pricing strategies, annual rate conversations, and retention metrics.

Process Improvement & Technology Modernization

  • Identify bottlenecks, reinvent workflows, and create operational consistency across the outsourced accounting function.
  • Lead accounting software implementations and technology optimization initiatives.
  • Champion the use of automation, AI, and modern accounting tools to increase efficiency and elevate delivery.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Base Salary: $150,000 – $175,000
  • Performance Bonus Eligibility
