AI Transformation Program Lead
Apply for this job

Why You’ll Actually Care

District Partners is recruiting for an established leader in commercial finance that is reinvesting in itself, building a dedicated AI transformation team and its own AI platform to launch new products and service lines. The platform, new agents and company-wide adoption are all moving at once, and the operating model around them has not caught up yet. That gap is the job: turning an ambitious strategy into a program with real structure, governance and momentum, without slowing the builders down. You will work at the right hand of the executive leading the transformation and serve as the connective tissue between AI engineering, product and the business. It is a rare chance to write the playbook for how a regulated company reinvents itself with AI while the playbook is still blank.

The Basics

The company is a long-established leader in its segment of financial services with a history of out-investing its peers in technology. Its AI transformation spans a proprietary platform, business-facing agents and company-wide enablement, all running in parallel. The effort has genuine executive sponsorship and sits in a technology group that runs like an in-house R&D lab. At this scale, well-run AI programs show up quickly in how the firm serves clients and grows.

What You’ll Be Owning

  • A single integrated plan across every concurrent AI initiative, with scope, dependencies, timelines and success measures that engineering, product and business leaders all sign off on
  • Release coordination for a multi-layer AI platform, spanning agent infrastructure, orchestration and control, knowledge access and context services, so each layer lands in the right order
  • An AI governance framework built with legal, risk, compliance and security, covering policy, data protection, access controls and agent permissions, designed to enable speed rather than block it
  • A repeatable intake-to-adoption path for new AI workflows and agents, so good ideas move from request to production to real usage without stalling
  • An enterprise AI training program, delivered with HR and department leaders, that gets employees confident using the new tools
  • The program operating system: status reporting, risk registers, decision logs, executive materials and the meeting cadence that keeps leadership informed and commitments on track

The Environment

Multiple AI programs are already in flight on a newly formed team, and the operating rhythm around them is still being defined. You will work closely with the senior executive leading the transformation and sit between AI engineering, product and business stakeholders, so comfort with ambiguity and competing priorities is essential. Legal, risk, compliance and security are active partners, and keeping them aligned without losing momentum is a core part of the role. Improving how programs are run, including the tools and practices behind them, is part of the mandate.

What You Bring to the Table

  • 7+ years in program, project or technology delivery, including 3+ years running several complex initiatives at the same time
  • A record of leading cross-functional programs with engineering, product and business teams, including dependency management, risk management and executive reporting
  • Experience partnering directly with senior leadership on strategic initiatives and turning their priorities into executable plans
  • Working knowledge of AI platform architecture and agent-based systems, plus applications such as document intelligence, knowledge retrieval, workflow automation and agent monitoring
  • Understanding of AI security and risk, including data protection, access controls, prompt injection and agent permissions
  • Fluency with modern work management and documentation tools, and the instinct to improve them
  • Program management certification, or financial services or capital markets experience, is a plus

A Few Things Worth Knowing

  • Compensation: $185K to $215K base, plus discretionary bonus and full benefits including 401(k) match
  • Location: Remote, US-based
  • Work model: Fully remote
  • Engagement type: Full-time, direct hire
