District Partners is seeking a NetSuite specialist who brings a rare combination of skills: deep revenue recognition expertise and the technical ability to architect, develop, and implement system-wide changes. The work goes far beyond scripting. It requires someone who understands the business logic behind revenue recognition, how changes ripple across Finance and upstream/downstream workflows, and how to design a model that holds up under real operational pressure.
This is a role for someone who can diagnose, reimagine, and rebuild—not just maintain. It is ideal for a developer who wants to solve meaningful problems and create a foundation the business can rely on for years.
What You’ll Do:
- Re-architect and enhance NetSuite’s revenue recognition engine to improve accuracy, auditability, and ASC-606 alignment with strong expertise in ARM
- Translate complex revenue logic into clean, scalable NetSuite configurations, automations, and custom development
- Evaluate the current rev-rec model holistically, including revenue arrangements, allocation rules, billing triggers, renewals, integrations, and downstream reporting
- Identify systemic design gaps and rebuild components to eliminate inconsistencies and reduce manual work
- Develop high-quality SuiteScript (2.x/2.1), SuiteFlow, and custom templates supporting O2C, subscription models, and multi-element arrangements
- Collaborate closely with Finance, Accounting, Billing, and the NetSuite Platform Owner to shape a long-term architectural roadmap
- Document logic clearly and support thorough testing cycles to ensure both functional and technical teams fully understand the updated model
What You'll Bring:
- Deep functional knowledge of NetSuite revenue recognition, including revenue arrangements, allocation logic, event triggers, and carve-out handling - 7 + years dev expertise ; architecting with ability to read code
- Strong NetSuite development background using SuiteScript 2.x/2.1, SuiteFlow, RESTlets, and scheduled scripts
- Ability to think beyond the immediate fix and design solutions that account for upstream inputs and downstream reporting needs
- Experience architecting rev-rec solutions in environments with subscription billing, multi-element arrangements, or non-standard revenue events
- Comfort translating Finance and Accounting requirements into technical designs that are scalable and maintainable
- A systems-thinking mindset that focuses on long-term clarity and stability instead of quick patches and excellent professionalism and communication skills when working with various types of stakeholders
Why This Role Matters:
Revenue recognition sits at the center of financial integrity. The organization needs someone capable of owning the full lifecycle—someone who understands the accounting logic, can architect the right technical model, and can build it correctly the first time.
